Dudes are vengeance. Dudes are the night. Dudes are… talking about BATMAN! The dudes are joined this episode by Rob Luther of many podcasts fame (Turtle Flakes, Genesis Gems, The Retro Junkies Super Show, etc.) and he really helps Michael out in the quest department. He also cheats at quizzes… hoser. BATMAN is a beloved game by many a D-Padder and it’s surprising that it hasn’t been recommended yet. Nevertheless, the dudes take it upon themselves to bring a ton of great dialog about this game. Be sure and give this show a listen this week if you are a fan of the game or if you have never played it. You are guaranteed to want to give it a go afterwards. Michael’s Quiz Record: 2Wins – 2Losses Retrofitted TrophiesLow Blow Hero/Nut Shot Hero – Beat every opponent by crouching and punching Who’s Laughing Now? – Murder JOKER Honey, I Blew Up the BATMAN – Make BATMAN burst into flames by dying BATMAN the Horologist (it’s a real word people) – Climb the clocktower without taking damage Stay With Me – Complete a level with one bar of health Wannabe Bill Gates – Defeat the Wanna See a Magic Trick – Hide in the corner during the first boss fight so the boss can’t hit you Call the EPA – Get to level 3 and realize the chemical plant has been dumping Purple Rain – BATMAN makes it rain with bullets Gotham Is Now Safe Thanks To the Purple Knight – Beat the game Don’t You Know I’m a Martial Artist – Beat the game with only your fists That’s Batastic – Beat the game without using cheats Game RatingType of Nocturnal Animal: Mike: Racoon Justin: Bat eared fox Rob: Owl Show link: nesdudes.com/2014/09/24/batman/

I absolutely love this game, and it's soundtrack! One of the best games on the NES

The Tim Burton Batman movies were hugely popular among my family and Freinds. We were also big Nintendo Fans , so when the Nes Batman game came out it was like a match made in heaven for us. I still vividly remember my cousin getting this cart for his birthday and all of us playing it into the wee hours of the night. I relived a bit of that night last night after the kids went to bed. I played Batman for a little over an hour and enjoyed every minute of it. The gameplay was pretty good kinda like Castlevania meets Ninja Gaiden with a twist of Mega Man for good measure. I forgot how difficult this game can be at times (the frog type monsters on level 3-1 can be a real pain in the butt!). The soundtrack is pretty good too, a bit repetitive at times but still a decent score. I did find the story quite different from the movie ( I don't remember Batman battling a moth like creature or a giant set of missle shooting blocks in the Tim Burton flick lol ) but still entertaining. Overall if I was to rate this game with a Batman Villain rating system I would give this game a Joker ( fun at times and down right crazy and frustrating at others ). I came up with a Trophy or achievement too. The Parkour Predator kill two or more enemies while wall hopping without touching the ground.

this game is awesome. Never beat it. In fact, haven't played it in forever. I loved the movie, dat bat mobile . Only beef I have with this game is I don't remember seeing a flamethrower guy, or a lot of these guys in the movie, and there's no Bob the goon anywhere to be found, even though he's in a Commodore 64 game.

One of my favorites on the NES. Challenging, but nowhere as tough as some of the hardest games on the NES. Though the Joker can be a pain if you don't know the method of just spam punching him low.

Man, after playing it again this past week, I think this game has climbed pretty high on my all time NES list.

Rob Luther is a beast. A BEAST!!!! As for horologist, the "h" is not silent, but ninja gaiden is prounounced "guy-den" with a harsh emphasis on the "d".

If you watch that terrible movie "The Wizard" you can hear it's proper pronunciation. Fascinating.

If you watch that terrible movie "The Wizard" you can hear it's proper pronunciation. Fascinating. So we're going to trust proper pronunciation to Kevin Arnold?
