Mega Man is one of those games that not only stands the test of time but feels 10 times harder than it did as a kid. It's still a great platformer, as good as any in my opinion, but it has a very steep learning curve. It's like super meat boy without any forgiveness.

I have such a bad relationship with this game mainly because I haven't been able to beat Ice Man's stage since I was about 8-10 years old. One day you winter coat wearing son of a ****ing *****

Mega man?! I coulda swore that the music you played at the end of the show was from mega 4, not the original. Now my voicemail makes no sense at all. I only played this once... And it was tough.

I truly adore this game, one of my favourites of all time and my favourite of all the Megaman* series. Fantastic level design, amazing music, great premise, this whole game just blows my mind to this day.
*Megamen? Megaman'? Megamans? does anybody know the plural to Megaman?

Great solid game, but I think it suffers from Terminator 2 syndrome where the sequel so outshines the original that the original is often overlooked or forgotten.
Also, if it wasn't for the pause trick, The Yellow Devil could have been a game breaker due to his extreme difficulty.

I feel like Mega Man came out nearly fully formed. You had the classic blue bomber, selectable levels (each with a unique boss). Acquiring abilities from bosses, figuring out what ability to use on who, tough levels, satisfying gameplay and great music. The only thing that didn't carry over to Megaman 2 was scoring! I agree with Phil. Great game that gets unfairly overlooked. AND THAT BOX ART.

Great and classic soundtrack by Manami Matsumae, and the sound driver/programming by Yoshihiro Sakaguchi whose sound would carry-out the great NES Capcom sound we've all come to know and love!

This is the game that started it all for the blue bomber. It had (and still has) excellent graphics, sound, and most of all game play. The controls were tight with little to no lag it seemed which is good because you are going to need to be on your A game to beat this game. This def.belongs on the Mount Rushmore of NES Games.

I really have a love hate relationship with the Mega-man.For some reasons Mega-man II was the most player friendly version made. I think this one was the game that made this franchise Famous.

Probably my 3rd favorite overall in the Mega Man series, just behind Mega Man 2 and my all time fave, Mega Man 3.

I think Mega Man II is the one that made the franchise famous. Mega Man I was more of a sleeper hit. Word of mouth movement, you know?

The moving dropping platforms on the gutsman stage are the only thing I still have problems with, I really hate those things, I do love the orginal megaman game, I will re-beat this one.
